- Ronald F. Carlisle, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY.He was born in Sanborn, NY, on March 6, 1921, the son of the late Thomas J. and Ruby [Bush] Carlisle.
Mr. Carlisle served with the US Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a cabinet maker at Scholles Lumber in Sanborn and later a carpententer with the Carpenter’s Union, before retiring in 1981. Mr. Carlisle was a member of the Sanborn Legion and Lions Club, he was also an avid sportsman.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years Gloria J. [Treichler] Carlisle, one son Wayne D. (Desiree) Carlisle of Cumming, GA, two daughters Diane (Gregory) DiNezza of Berholtz and Cynthia (late Gary) Crook of Davison, NC, five grandchildren Melissa (Trevor) Bannister, Michelle (Kenneth) Kuriscak, Tayler (Sean) McCardy, Cody and Zach Carlisle, four great grandchildren Julia, Madeline, Morgan and Marianna, also many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Charles and Thomas Carlisle, Frances McCulloch, Marion Gray, Thelma Reid and Dorothy Carlisle.
The family will be present on Sunday, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM, at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services followed military honors will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM, with the Rev. Brad Delp officiating.
A memorial service by the Sanborn American Legion Post 696 will be held on Sunday at 3:00 PM.
Memorials may be made in his name to the Community Bible Church or to Niagara Hospice.
Interment in Mt. View Cemetery, Town of Cambria, NY.
