James McLagan, 64, 1122 West
a resident here for 17 years, died
in a local hispital May 17, 1944
after a long illness.
Born Mar 17,1880 in Norwich,
he was a son of George H. and
Clarissa McNitt McLagan. He
came to Utica in 1917 and was em-
employed as a painter and paper
hanger. He attended St. John's
Church. His first wife, the for-
mer Miss Mildred Barr of South
New Berlin died, and he then mar-
ried Mary Jebeaux.
She survives with two daugh-
ters, Mrs. Seward Tuttle, East
Rochester, and Mrs. Gordon Bick-
ford, Greenfield, Mass.; six sisters,
mrs. Jessie Moses, Hamilton; Mrs.
Walter McIntyre, Oneonta; Mrs.
Frank Sherman, Mrs. Kirk Moss
and Mrs. Orson Blood, all of Nor-
wich, and Mrs. Charles Hoggman,
Guilford; two brothers, Kasson
McLagan, Norwich, and Percy Mc-
Lagan, Guilford, and five grand-
children.
