DOROTHY SCHLEEF
Dorothy Schleef, of Middleport, formerly of Wolcottsville, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at Millard Fillmore Hospital. Mrs. Schleef was born in Cleveland, Ohio on August 16, 1921, the daughter of Frank and Nettie (Prashek) Pech. She has lived most of her life in Wolcottsville and moved to Middleport two years ago. She owned and operated Schleef's Grocery Store in Wolcottsville for 25 years, retiring in 1990. She was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Wolcottsville and a former member of the Wolcottsville Fire Auxiliary. Mrs. Schleef enjoyed her family and was an avid bingo player. She was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters, John Pech, Lawrence Pech, Helen Eldred, Ruth Stephanek and Alice Tosti. She is survived by her husband, Theodore W. Schleef; and four children, Thomas (Barbara) Schleef of Middleport, Kathleen (Gerald) Walck of Sanborn, Janet (Arnold) Stahl and Michael (Kathie) Schleef, all of' Wolcottsville; 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; and two sisters, Catherine Gartroza of Twin City, Ohio and Jeanne (Raymond) Bollnow of Arizona; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport and Friday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville, where funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Bruce Donley officiating. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Wolcottsville. Memorials to St. Michael's Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the Schleef family.
