Catherine G. "Katie" Licata

BUFFALO — Lockport native and longtime Buffalo resident, Catherine G. "Katie" Licata, 49, died suddenly on April 14, 2012, at her West Side residence. She was a graduate of Lockport High School and was attending classes at Buffalo State College in preparation for an education degree at the time of her death.
She was a talented singer and appeared in several local theater productions, including a performance of Hair at Artpark, Godspell at the University at Buffalo's Katherine Cornell Theater, Peer Gynt at Alleyway, and others. She was a regular at many area open microphone events and also performed at Hallwalls.
She was the daughter of the late Anne E. (nee Kenney) Licata and the late Peter J. Licata, and is survived by five siblings: Elizabeth A. (Alan Bigelow) Licata, Peter J. Licata, Mark J. (Lisa) Licata, Michael P. (Nancy) Licata and Mary P. Licata. She was the aunt of Courtney, McKenzie, and Whit.
A private memorial is planned.
