- Harold E. Urtel went into rest on October 12, 2016. Son of the late Edward and Mabel Urtel. Beloved husband to the late Bernice M. Urtel (Vicks). Loving dad of Ken Urtel, Margaret Baker (Wayne), Richard Urtel (Fran Rudin) and Steven Urtel (Mary).
Harold was a past President of the Wrights Corner Fire Department. He was an avid boater, loved his motor home, and a proud member of the Happy Wanders in Middleport, NY. He was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lockport, NY. Harold served our country and was a member of the American Legion Post #410 in Lockport, NY.
He is also survived by his sister, Helen Bye; his sister-in-law, Phyllis Urtel; proud randpa to four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will be present to receive friends on Sunday at the Bates Wallace and Heath Funeral Home, 38 State Street, Middleport, NY 14105 from 4-8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 AM at the funeral home, followed by burial at Cold Springs Cemetery with Military Honors. Memorials may be made in Harold's name to Wrights Corner Fire Hall, 4043 Lake Ave., Lockport NY 14094.
