-Announcement is made of the engagement
of Miss Vivian Rohring
to ETSN Ralph O. Austin, Jr., U.S.
Navy, by the future bride's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn A. Rohring,
Town Line road, East .Wilson. Mr.
Austin is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Austin, 430 Ward road. Miss Rohr
ing and her fiance are graduates of
Wilson Central school. The wedding
will take place August 2.

Miss Vivian June Rohring, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Glenn A. Rohring of Town Line Rd.t Wilson, N. Y., became
the bride of Ralph O. Austin Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
O. Austin Sr. of 430 Ward Rd., in a double ring ceremony
Aug. 2 at 6 p.m. in St. Peter's Evangelical Lutheran Church,
North Ridge.
The Rev. Carl Oldack officiated
before an altar adorned with lighted
candles and white gladioli. Baskets
of multicolored gladioli decorated
the church and white satin
bows marked the family pews.
Gordon Miller of Bergholtz accompanied
James Barrows of Wilson
who sang "Because" acd "The
Lord's Prayer."
The bride, given in marriage by
her father, wore a gown of white
chantilly lace over bridal satin
which terminated in a chapel-length
t r a i n . Her fitted-bodice was
fashioned with an illusion neckline
acd her sleeves ended in points
upon the wrist. A veil of silk il
lusion fell from a crown of. pearl
orange blossoms. White pompoms,
red roses and gypsophelia fastened
with lace ribbons formed the bridal
bouquet.
Others Described
The matron of honor, Mrs. Marvin
Hurtgam of Ransomville, wore
a strapless gown of peacock blue
marquisette over taffeta enhanced
by a tiered skirt and matching
cape. Her headdress of lilies of the
valley was attached to a small veil
with velvet ribbon. She carried
yellow gladioli florettes and gypsophilia.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Ray
mond Frederick and Miss Mary
Lou Rohring. Miss Onnalee Dys-
inger, cousin of the bride, was
junior bridesmaid. All were gowned
in shrimp margquisette and carried
blue gladioli and gypsophilia.
Miss Ronda Lou Fredericks, in
yellow, attended the bride as flower
girl. Ring bearer was K e n neth
Fredericks.
Arthur Austin was best man for
his brother. Ushering were Durwood
Bendt, of Ft. Myers, Va.,
Morton Dysinger Jr. of Lockport,
Paul Nevins of Camp Drum, N.Y.,
William Nevins of Newfane and
Mervin Hurtgam of Ransomville.
Reception for 200
The bride's mother wore a twopiece
dress of aqua crepe with a
lace jacket and white accessories.
Mrs. Austin chose a lace-trimmed
beige crepe dress studded w i th
fhinestones and accented by black
velvet accessories. Both women
wore corsages of roses and pompoms.
Grandmothers of the bride, Mrs.
Minnie Sralling and Mrs. William
C. Rohring, were attired in a navy
s i l k p r i n t and navy crepe re-
spectively. Mrs. Carrie Head, the
bridegroom's grandmother, w o re
aqua crepe. All had corsages of yellow
carnations.
A reception for 200 guests was
given at the Newfane Legion Hall.
After a tour of the Thousand Islands
Mr. and Mrs. Austin will
make their home in Boston, Mass.,
w h e r e Mr. Austin will serve
aboard the U.S.S. Hyman.
Prenuptial events included a variety
shower and beach p a r ty
giver by Misses Elberta and Herberta
Lederhouse, a kitchen shower
by Miss Mary Lou Rohring, linen
showers by Mrs. Raymond Frederick
and Mrs. Emma Frederick,
a variety shower by Mrs. Morton
Dysinger and Mrs. Howard Bendt,
a linen shower by Mrs. C l i f f o rd
Nevins and a variety shower by
Mrs. Mervin Hurtgam.
Mr. and Mrs Austin Sr. entertained
the bridal party at a buffet
supper after the rehearsal.
