- Henry H. Retzlaff, Ex-Merchant, Dies
A retired Lockport grocery store proprietor, Henry H. Retzlaff, 66, of 87 Seattle Ave., died this morning in Lockport City Hospital. He retired six years ago and had bean in poor health for some time. Mr. Retzlaff was born Aug, 30, 1883 in the Town of Royalton, son of Mr and Mrs. Albert Retzlaff. For 45 years he had lived to Lockport where he conducted grocery stores at various times to Transit Street, High and Saxton Streets, Grant Street and Seattle Avenue and in Bristol Avenue. He also operated a shoe store in Main Street, was in partnership with Thomas Ball, in a confectionary store in Locust Street and conducted an ice cream parlor at Lock and Ontario Streets. He wax an ardent fisherman. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Cooper and Mrs. Daniel Taylor and a son, Allen Retzlaff of Lockport; four grandchildren; a brother, John Retzlaff and a sister. Mrs. Augusta Tryloff of Wolcottsville, Services will be held Thursday at 2:30 at the Gaul Funeral Home, 263 East Ave. Burial will be in North Ridge Cemetery.
