LEWISTON — Anne Marie Virtuoso, 63, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Friday, July 6, 2012.
She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on September 5, 1948, the daughter of the late Alfred J. and Frances (Tedesco) Virtuoso, Sr.
Anne Marie attended local schools and graduated from Madonna High School in 1966, and from Niagara University in 1971, with a bachelor of arts degree. She later attended Trans World Airlines training school for flight attendants and started a 25-year career with the airlines.
After flying domestic flight for a dozens years, she relocated to Kew Gardens and flew out of JFK airport on international flights to London, Rome, Paris and Athens. Her personnel records are filled with dozens of commendations for outstanding services rendered written by passengers she served.
Upon her retirement she returned to the Village of Lewiston to reside with her parents. Anne Marie became a feline lover and adopted Carlo, Gino and Bootsie from the SPCA and adored them. She enjoyed giving presents to her great-nieces and nephews on their birthday and on holidays.
Anne Marie is survived by two brothers, Gene (Elizabeth) Virtuoso and Carl (Cindy) Virtuoso; a sister-in-law, Julie Virtuoso; six nieces and nephews, Marie Nalecz, Suzanne Burczyk, Michael Virtuoso, Carla Wegrzyn, Becky Virtuoso and Ryan Virtuoso. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was the sister of the late Alfred J. Virtuoso, Jr. and aunt of the late Steven Virtuoso.
Anne Marie donated her body to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine. Memorials may be made in her name to the Niagara County SPCA, 2100 Lockport Road, Niagara Falls, NY 14304. A memorial mass will be held at a time to be announced.
