- Walter Glenwood Wade, formerly of Munson Avenue and currently of Virginia Beach, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at his home. He was 92. He was born in West Decatur, Pennsylvania on December 1, 1923, a son of the late Herschel and Mary (Myers) Wade. He attended Pennsylvania schools and then served in the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Wade moved to Niagara Falls and worked at Stauffer Chemical for 25 years and then at Olin Chemical from where he retired as a chemical operator.
Mr. Wade was a longtime member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.
He is survived by two children: John R. (Donna) Cooper of Virginia and Sharon Docteur of Minnesota, 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by 5 siblings: Josephine (Jack) Lengen, Robert (Donna) Wade, Lois (Irvin) Brydges, John (Helga) Wade and Alice (James) Helton.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife Mary Louise Wade (2015) and his brother Herschel Wade.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Monday from 4-7 P.M. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 A.M. at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 616 Cayuga Drive, Niagara Falls. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery in Pendleton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Mr. Wade’s name to St. Stephen’s.
