- James M. Jones passed peacefully on Friday Nov 25 with his family. Survived by loving wife Shirley and son James Jr, daughter Laurie, families of nieces in North Carolina, and nurses Tammy House and Deborah LaPata.
In his youth he played baseball, basketball and football and is a member of the Niagara Falls Sports Hall of Fame.
He was invited to try out as a pitcher for the Philadelphia Phillies but then went to serve his country in the Navy for 4 years.
Worked at National Fuel Gas, notable that he saved a fellow worker from choking on a chicken wing.
He enjoyed the Buffalo Bills, outdoors, swimming, fishing, camping and his family.
Jimmy Jones came here for two reasons, to kick ass and chew gum...and he did not bring any damn gum!
Always a hard working, supportive and fun loving man.
Always with jokes and smiles and motivation!
So if you think you're down and out...you can go twice as far as you've already come!
He would want to thank all his friends for all the years of jokes, laughter and fun including hunting and fishing with his buddies.
I want you to be reminded of him as I do now...
I feel my dad's smile when the sun shines on my face.
I hear his whistle when the birds sing.
I hear his voice in the roar of the Falls.
I see the him in the stars and sky watching over us from heaven.
I must say good bye for now but I will see you again.
You are always loved forever and a day!
RIP Jimmy Jones!
