Mr. and Mrs. William G. Everest,
Weston Ave., announce the engagement
of their daughter. Marilyn
Louise, to Mr. Lawrence J. Voelker,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence E.

Voelker-Everest;
Mr. and. Mrs. Lawrence J. Voelker
are honeymooning, in Northern
Ontario and Quebec after their marriage
on Saturday at.3 p.m. at St.
James Methodist Church. The bride
is the former Miss Louise Marilyn
Everest, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
William G. Everest Weston Ave.,
and the bridegroom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence E. Voelker,
24th St.
The Rev. Chester C. Beebe performed
the ceremony before the
altar decorated with palms and
beauty baskets of White lilacs. Mr.
Earl Brownell, organist, played
Lohengrin's "Wedding March" and
accompanied Mrs. William Smith
who sang "I Love You Truly," "O,
Promise Me" and "The Lord's Prayer."
The bride was given in marriage
by her father, wore a gown of rosepoint
lace and tulle sprinkled with
iridescent sequins over satin. The
bodice with a shirred tulle insert
had a stand-up collar of scalloped
lace. The folly'gathered tulle skirt
had a. peplum ,and front panel of
rosepoint lace which cascaded into
the cathedral-length train. Her headpiece
was a pearl and iridescent Sequin
crown holding a double illusion
scalloped nylon tulle veil. The
former Miss Everest carried a cas-
cade bouquet of double white lilacs
centered with white roses.
Gowns of rainbow hues in styles
similar to that of the bride were
worn by the bridal attendants, Miss
anette Dunlap, maid of honor, and
Mrs. Elizabeth Smith, sister of the
bride, Mrs. Roy Swain, Flushing,
sister of the bridegroom, and Mrs.
Howard Voelker, bridesmaids. Each
wore a crown of velveteen flowers
and carried a bouquet of variegated
carnations and white double lilacs.
Miss Dunlap was attired in yellow;
Mrs. Smith in nile green; Mrs.
Swain in powder blue and Mrs.
Voelker in orchid.
Mr. Robert Denman was best
man. Performing the ushering duties
were Mr. Howard Voelker, Mr.
Harold Hollenbeck and Mr. Robert
Everest, brother of the bride.
After the ceremony, the reception
was held in the church parlors
where the bride's table was center-
ed with a four-tiered wedding cake,
white tapers and white daisy mums.
Guests were received by Mrs. Everest
in a powder blue lace dress with
a tulle skirt, pink accessories and a
corsage of pink and blue carnations.
Mrs. Voelker was attired In a dusty
rose lace and tulle dress with navy
blue accessories and a corsage of
blue and pink carnations.
For traveling the bride chose a
powder blue silk shantung costume
with a hand knit natural coat. After
June 1, the couple will reside at
2006 Forest Ave.
