entertain at a linen shower at
the home of the latter, in honor
of Miss Jean Tothill, whose marriage
to Charles F. Ackerson of
Niagara Falls will take place
October 2nd.

The marriage of Miss Jean Louise
Tothill, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Edward Martin Tothill of i^ederieka
street, to Charles Frederick
Ackerson, son of Judge and Mrs.
Fred Morris Ackerson of McKoon
avenue, Niagara Falls was solemnised
at 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon,
October 2, at the home of
the bride's aunt, Mrs. William H.
Shaw and Mr. Shaw, 206 Lexington
avenue, Buffalo. The Rev.
David Maclnnes, pastor of the Lafayette
Presbyterian church, performed
the ceremony, which took
place in front of the fireplace,
which was banked with ferns,
palms and salmon colored gladiolias
in large urns. The rooms
throughout the house were decorated
with various colored chrysanthemums
and other fall flowers.
The bride, who was given in
marriage by her father, wore a
gown of wine colored crepe, trimmed
with gold and carried a
sheath bouquet of bronze chrysanthemums.
The bride's mother was
attired in a gown of mahogany
crepe with brown accessories and
wore a corsage of yellow roses.
The groom's mother wore a royal
blue crepe gown with a corsage of
gardenias.
A reception and tea for fifty
guests followed the ceremony.
The buffet tea table was covered
with a lace cloth and centered
with a bouquet of yellow chrysanthemums
in a silver bowl,
flanked by tall yellow tapers in
silver candelabra. Miss Emily
Tothill, sister of the bride and
Miss Mary Ackerson, sister of the
groom, presided at the urns.
Guests were present from Albany,
Syracuse, Olean, Gasport,
Lockport, Niagara Falls, Buffalo
and the Tonawandas.
After a wedding trip to Lake
Luzerne, in the Adirondack mountains,
Mr. and Mrs. Ackerson will
be at home in 147 Falconer street,
North Tonawanda.
