LOCKPORT- A retired general contractor, Joseph
H. Volschow, 84, of 48 Saxton St,, died Wednesday (June
3,1964) at his home.
Mr. Volschow was born Jan.
19, 1880, in Somerset, son of
William and M a r y Wagner
Volschow. His wife, Mrs, Ella
Volschow, died last March 4.
Mr. Volschow built many
of the homes in this area and
c o n s t r u c t e d St Charles
Church in Olcott and the Odd
Fellows Home Hospital building
here. He was a member
of the Board of Education for
14 years and a member of
First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include t h r ee
daughters, Mrs. Aloysius F.
Ulrich, Mrs. -Robert W. Bennett
and Mrs. Edmond H.
Brown, all Lockport; six sisters,
Mrs. William Kruger,
Mrs. Charles Lawton, Mrs.
Walter Reackhoff, all of 01-
cott, Mrs. Jane Mather, Middleport,
Mrs. F r e d Israel,
Wilson, Mrs. Herman Gillmeister,
of Medina; s e v en
grandchildren, e i g h t greatgrandchildren
and s e v e r al
nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11
a.m. Saturday at Lange Funeral
Home. Rev, W. James
Westhafer, pastor of F i r st
Presbyterian Church, will officiate.
B u r i a l will be in
Wrights Corners Cemetery.
