NEWFANE, Jan, 22-Fred Volschow,
one of Newfane's oldest residents,
died last night at the family
home, Transit Rd., following a
stroke suffered a week ago.
Mr. Volschow was born in Germany,
Oct. 14, 1871, and came to
this area when seven months old,
with his parents, William and Mary
Wagner Volschow. He was one of
15 children all of whom lived to
be adults.
He was married to Matilda Sahr
and they celebrated their 65th wedding
anniversary last fall.
He is survived by his wife; one
son, Fred J. Volschow, Appleton;
one daughter, Mrs. Esther Wolfe,
Lockport; four grandchildren; two
great grandchildren; also seven sis-
ters and one brother, Mrs. George
Geigcrand Mrs. Jay Mather, Middleport;
Mrs. Lena Krugcr, Mrs.
Chides Lawton and Mrs. Walter
f Reackbdf f, all of Olcott; Mrs. Fred
Isrcal, Wilson; Mrs.' Herman Gilmeister,
Medina, and Joseph Volschow,
Lockpbrt.
Friends may call at the Corwin
Funeral Home starting at 3 p.m.
tomorrow. Services will be held
at the funeral home at 2:30 p.m.
Monday with the Rev. William
Dallman, pastor of St. John's Lu-
theran Church, officiating. Burial
will be in Lakeview Cemetery, Ol-
cott.
