- NIAGARA FALLS — Richard H. Crossley, 69, formerly of 71st St., Niagara Falls, of Cayuga Village, died Monday, August 23, 2010 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on April 9, 1941, the son of the late Vincent Crossley and Ann D. (Maione) Walker.
He attended local schools, was a 1959 graduate of Niagara Falls High School and 1972 graduate of Niagara County Community College in with an AAS Degree in Business Management. Mr. Crossley served with the U.S. Army from 1963 until honorably discharged in 1965. He was employed with Tonawanda Merchants and with the International Graphite Company before he began his career with the Exolon Company in 1967. He started as a production clerk and worked his way up to Sales & Production Coordinator, Inventory Manager, District Sales Manager and in 2002 retired as the plant manager. Mr. Crossley was involved in many organizations including the Renaissance Club, the United Way of the Tonawanda's, the Sons and Daughter's of Italy, Power City Lodge, the Tonawanda Chamber of Commerce, and The Dom Polski Hall on Oliver Street in North Tonawanda. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing and bowling.
Survivors include his son, Richard W. (Wendy) Crossley of Sanborn, NY; his girlfriend, Lynn Moretto Mancini of North Tonawanda, NY; his former wife, Cherrie Cassaro of Sanborn, NY; and two grandchildren, Alana Marie and Richard James "RJ" of Sanborn. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Vincent Crossley.
Friends may call after 5:00 PM on Thursday, August 26, 2010 in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, where services will be held Thursday evening at 7:00 PM.
