GASPORT — Douglas N. Huntington, of Gasport, passed away Friday morning, January 21, 2011 at his home. Mr. Huntington was born in Medina, NY on September 27, 1958, son of Joan (Krisher) Thomas and the late Norman Huntington.
Mr. Huntington had lived in the Middleport-Gasport area all of his life. He was a graduate of Royalton-Hartland High School where he wrestled and also played football and ran track.
He served in the US Navy from l976 to l978. He and his wife, Deborah (Tryloff) Huntington were married June 4, 1983. Mr. Huntington enjoyed his family and he coached wrestling and baseball at Royalton-Hartland.
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Huntington; one son, Nathan Huntington of Medina; two grandchildren, Dakoda Huntington and Lillyjean Huntington. Also surviving is his mother, Joan (Jack) Thomas of Lyndonville; his grandfather, Vernon Krisher, also of Lyndonville; and his step-mother, Nancy Huntington of Middleport. Also surviving are his sisters and brothers, Dawn (Tony) Kwiatkowski of Lyndonville, David (Bobbi) Huntington of Gasport, Barbara (John) Newton of Middleport, Kevin (Darcy) Payne of Lockport and James (Davy) Payne of Middleport; his step-brothers and step-sisters, Mark Thomas of Akron, Jeffrey (Debbie) Thomas of Depew, Judith (William) Wright of Florida, Jackie Thomas of Florida and Jon Thomas of Tonawanda. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends may call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State Street, Middleport, NY, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Hartland Central Cemetery.
