Bouquets of white gladioli decorated the altar of Our
Lady of the Rosary Church this morning (July 16, 1955) at
9 o'clock, when Miss Joanne Louise Pozzi became the bride
of Richard Charles Wahl. The Rev. William E. Bern officiated
at the double-ring ceremony for the daughter of Mrs.
June Pozzi, Ferry Ave., and Frank Pozzi, Ontario Ave., and
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Wahl, Lewistoq.
Escorted to the altar by her
uncle, Cecil Bullman, the bride
wore a gown of white lace, tulle
and satin with a portrait neckline
of shirred tulle and appliqued
lace, and a cathedrallength
train. Her double-illusion
veil was caught to a queen's
crown of beaded satin, and she
carried a white prayer book topped
with a white orchid.
Miss Barbara Wahl, sister of
the bridegroom, as maid of
honor, was gowned in a waltzlength
strapless gown of shrimp
nylon chiffon with a matching
stole. Her headpiece was a
matching bandeau of scattered
leaves and a tiny face veil. Wearing
gowns of identical style in
romance blue were the bridesmaids,
Miss Marie Pozzi, sister
of the bride, Miss Patricia
Brydges, cousin of the bridegroom,
Miss Sandra Byrne and
Miss Helen Rearick. They all
carried colonial bouquets of pink
roses and mixed flowers.
Flower girls were Rebecca
Butcher, cousin of the bridegroom,
and Sandra Sicoli.
Sam Mantel was best man
and ushers were John Gordon,
Charles Harvey, Harold Thompson
and Joseph Wilgosz.
Following the ceremony,
breakfast was held at the home of
the bride, and a dinner, took
place at the El Capitan Restaurant
For the reception at the
Prospect House, the mother of
the bride chose a green linen, and
lace dress with white accessories.
The mother of the groom
favored a yellow silk shantung
dress with white accessories.
Each mother complemented her
dress with a corsage of red roses.
For a wedding trip to the
Adirondacks, the bride donned
a black and white linen suit with
w hi t e accessories completed
with a white corsage. After Aug.
7, Mr. and Mrs. Wahl will be at
home in 627 26th St.
