- Angelo Fama passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Saturday, August 17, 2019 after a lengthy illness. He was 71. He was born in Niagara Falls on December 9, 1947, a son of the late Frank and Josephine (Valenza) Fama.
He graduated from Trott Vocational High School and then fought for his country in Vietnam as a proud member of the United States Army. He was honorably discharged in 1970 and married the love of his life, Anita Kennedy, on July 11, 1970 and they remained happily married for 49 years until his passing.
Angelo had a Masters Degree from Buffalo State University in Teaching and was a classic car and firearms enthusiast but his greatest joy was his time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife Anita Fama and three children: Shannon Fama-Barker of Niagara Falls, Sheri (Ryan Parish) Fama of Lakewood, CA and Angelo Fama II of Niagara Falls. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren: Kyle and Christian Barker and three siblings: Joseph (Elizabeth) Fama of Grand Island, Anthony (Danielle) Fama of Niagara Falls and Anitta Courson of Nevada and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two siblings: Floretta Rotella of Niagara Falls and Frank Fama, Jr. of Las Vegas.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Wednesday from 3-8 PM with military honors being held at 8 immediately following the visitation. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 AM followed by burial in Memorial Park Cemetery in Lewiston.
