 Louis P. Shanley, 65, of 399
 S. Transit St., retired superintendent
 of fire alarms, died this
 morning (April 30, 1960) in the
 Veteran's Hospital in Buffalo.
 A native of Medina, Mr. Shan
 ley lived here for 58 years. He
 served with the Fire Department
 from 1935 until his retirement in
 1958. He was appointed fire alarm
 superintendent in 1956.
 Son. of Frank and Ellen Mc-
 Grath Shanley, he was born o n
 Aug. 21, 1894. He was educated
 at St. Johns School and L o c k -
 port High School
 An overseas Army veteran of
 World War I, Mr. Shanley was
 employed by the New York
 State Electric and Gas Corp here
 for 15 years before joining the
 Fire Department.
 He married the former Mary
 Healy on Aug. 16, 1927. Mr.
 _ was a member of St. Patrick's
 Church and its Holy Name
 Society;- the Firemen's Benevolent
 Assn. and Lockport Council
 319, Knights of Columbus. He
 was a charter member of the
 Lockport Veterans of Foreign
 Wars Post.
 An ardent football fan, Mr.
 Shanley also enjoyed fishing.
 Besides his wife, he is survived
 by six daughters, Mrs.
 Carl W. Blackley Jr., Miss Patricia
 Rose Shanley and Mrs.
 Raymond B. Coakley, all of Lockport;
 Sister M. Dominic, St. Joseph's
 Convent, Buffalo; Mrs.
 Dominic Albanese, Medina, and
 Mrs. Mauro D. Garrfalo, Elm
 hurst, Ill.; a son, David F. Shan
 ley of Lockport; a sister, Mrs
 Allen Willis of South Bend, Ind.,
 and eight grandchildren.
 Services will be conducted at
 8:30 Tuesday morning in the Tay
 lor and Reynolds Funeral Home,
 Niagara at N. Transit St., and
 at 9 in St. Patrick's Church
 Burial will be in St Patrick's
 Cemetery.
