Mr. and Mrs. Frank L. Walsh of
49 Capitol Street today observed
their 25th wedding anniversary.
The wedding took place on June
23, 1920, in St. Aloyslus Church
and the ceremony was performed
by the late Rev. J. J. McGrath.
The nuptial Mass was celebrated
by Rev. John Neary, then assistant
pastor and now in Aurora.
The attendants were Mary A.
Carey and Patrick W. Walsh.
This morning a wedding anniversary
Mass was sung at St.
Mary's Church and a dinner for
the immediate family and relatives
will be served at the Walsh
home this evening. Mr. and Mrs.
Walsh have three sons in the service
of this country, and a daughter.
Staff Sergt. Thomas Walsh,
USAAF, is a gunner aboard a
B-29 Superfortress and he has
been on 28 combat missions. PFC
John C. Walsh, USMC, now is on
duty in the Panama Canal Zone,
and Pvt. David Walsh. USMC. is
in North Carolina. The daughter.
Mrs. Charles B. Waterbouse, resides
in Auburn.

Mrs. Elizabeth (Betty) Carey Walsh, 5222
Fourth Street North, St. Petersburg, Florida,
formerly of 10 Elizabeth Street, Auburn, died
Sunday, October 9, 1988, at Metropolitan
Hospital, Pinellas Park, Florida.
Betty was born in Auburn the daughter of
.John and Anna Luby Carey. She has resided in
Florida the past five years. Her husband, Frank
L. Walsh, predeceased her in February 1977.
She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church,
affiliated with the parish Rosary-Scapular
Society and Auburn Court Catholic Daughters of
America. Active in local organizations, Betty
was a member and former president of the
Auxiliaries of Post 1975 Veterans of Foriegn
Wars; W. Mynderse Rice Post 97 American
Legion; Auburn Lodge 474 B.P.O. Elks; Auburn
Council 207 Knights of Columbus and the
Auburn Letter Carriers.
A tireless member and past president of the
Cayuga County Democratic Woman's Club; she
was a former committee person in the tenth
ward and second ward of Auburn. She was
unsuccessful as a candidate for supervisor
while residing in the tenth ward. She had served
many years as an election inspector.
She was also active as a volunteer worker at
the Red Cross; Mercy Rehabilitation Center;
Canandaigua Veteran's Hospital and the
Syracuse Veteran's Hospital.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. June
Waterhouse of Rochester, New Hampshire;
Four sons, Thomas F. Walsh and John C. Walsh
of St. Petersburg, Florida; David L. Walsh of
Auburn and Peter A. Walsh of Wilmington,
Ohio; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren
and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday,
October 14, 1988 in St. Mary's Church where a
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered.
Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the Farrell
Funeral Home, 84 South Street from 2 to 4 and 7
to 9 p.m. Thursday.
