Hazel U. Walker

OLCOTT — Hazel U. (Urtel) Walker of Olcott, entered into rest on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at Buffalo General Hospital. Born in Ransomville, she was the daughter of Edward L. and Mabel I. (Rohring) Urtel.
Hazel graduated from Wilson High School. She married Robert Walker on April 12, 1952 at St. Peters Lutheran Church. Owner of Flora Hatch, an elegant apparel store which operated in both Lockport and Williamsville for over 50 years, Hazel brought her sense of style and fashion to her many loyal customers. Hazel was a former member of Zonta, DLBA, Habitat for Humanity, Concordia Lutheran Church and Lockport Town and Country Club. Hazel enjoyed spending time golfing, (hole in one at Lockport Country Club), extensive travel, entertaining, gardening, skiing and boating.
Hazel is survived by her husband of 60 years, Robert; a son, James Walker; daughters, Jayne (Doug) Lloyd and Jody Siddall; grandsons, Barrett Lloyd and Parker Siddall. Hazel was predeceased by her granddaughter, Paige Siddall; sister to Elton Urtel, Dolly Urtel, Helen Bye and the late Russell Urtel, Delilah Grzybowski and Lawrence Urtel. Hazel is also survived by several nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Friends are invited to attend visitation at the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, 6139 East Avenue, Newfane, NY, on Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Funeral Services will be held at St. Peters Lutheran Church, 4169 Church Road, Lockport, NY, on Thursday, May 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Peters Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials appreciated to Concordia Lutheran Church or St. Peters Lutheran Church.
