- Nelson A. Nassiff
Of North Tonawanda, New York passed away on January 6, 2025, at the age of 89. He is survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Artha R. (nee Rumbold) Nassiff, and was a loving father to his six children; Steven N. (Deborah Wanecski) Nassiff, Philip A. (Doreen) Nassiff, Cynthia E. (Fred) Adcock, Pamela R. (John) Kasprzyk, Rebecca S. (Jason) Senft, and Peter D. Nassiff. Also survived by his sister-in-law Marilyn L. Rumbold, his nephews; Donald (Lynn) DePaolo and family, and David (Debi) DePaolo and family, as well as being blessed with seven grandchildren; Jeffrey (Chloe) Hazel, Jeanette Nassiff, Joshua (Kimberly) Kasprzyk, Autumn Kasprzyk, Ashlea Senft, Noah Senft, Brennan Senft, and two great-grandchildren; Jack Hazel and Leilah Kasprzyk.
Nelson was the son of the late Alice (Monsour) Nassiff and Elias Nassif. He is predeceased by his sisters; Lila (Robert) MacDonald, Lorraine (Dominic) DePaolo, Olivia Nassif, and his late nieces; Alice MacDonald Walters and Sue (James) Nickel.
Nelson was a 1952 graduate of North Tonawanda high school and was a member of Ascension Catholic Church. As a musician, he was a singer and saxophone player in the bands, “midnight” and “generation gap”, and a member of the Ganson Street Tigers, having organized the annual picnics. He enjoyed martial arts and was an expert in judo and karate. Nelson was an automobile mechanic and service station owner and operator for fifty years and worked as a groundskeeper for the North Tonawanda City School District.
We will always carry his memory in our hearts.
Visitation at Wattengel Funeral Home at 533 Meadow Drive in North Tonawanda on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 11am-1pm, with a Memorial Service immediately following. Private burial at St. Paul cemetery in North Tonawanda.
