- John E. Lachowski, 86, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on November 9, 2018. He was born on February 16, 1932 in Niagara Falls, NY and was the son of the late John and Leokadia (Barscz) Lachowski. He attended Holy Trinity Parochial School and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1950.
John served in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 to 1954. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal and received the Korean War Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.
He worked for Hooker Chemical/Occidental Corp for 43 years. John was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, Portage Post #1465, Disabled Veterans of America and the YMCA of Niagara Falls, NY. John loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, David (Claudine) Lachowski, John James Lachowski and Carolyn (Daniel) Leudanski; grandchildren, Lauren, Danny, Lori and Kelsey. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Bernadette (Walasek) Lachowski and sister, Henrietta (Henia) Emil Szalach.
Friends may call Friday, November 16th from 4-7 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 24th Street, cor of Welch Ave, Niagara Falls, NY, where prayers will begin at 10:30 AM on Saturday November 17th. A Mass of Christian burial following 11:00 AM at Divine Mercy Parish, 2437 Niagara Street, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating. Entombment with Military honors following in Gate of Heaven Holy Angels Mausoleum, Lewiston, NY
