Fred C. Zuhr, 54, of 27 Catherine
street, an employe of the
Van Raalte Silk Mills on Sweeney
street for the past 29 years, was
found dead in his place ef employment
a few minutes after he
began work at 7 o'clock this
morning. Coroner J. E. Helwig
investigated and expressed the
opinion that Mr. Zuhr succumbed
to a heart ailment, from wnich
he had long been a sufferer.
Found by fellow employes in
the knitting department, Dr. Alvin
J. Schweitzer was summoned
immediately. He pronounced Mr.
Zuhr dead and Dr. Helwig was
notified.
Mr. Zuhr was a life-long resident
of Tonawanda, a member of
the Immanuel Lutheran church
and the Niagara Hose company.
He is survived by his wife, Ida
Pauline, nee Wein; two sons, Wilson
and Kenneth; a granddaughter,
Karen, all of Tonawanda; and
two brothers, Herman and Frank
Zuhr of Lead, S. D.
Funeral services will be held
Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock
from the Hamp Funeral Home, 37
Adam street. The Rev. Theodore
Schroeder will officiate and interment
will be in Ebnlawn.
