WEIR, Marilyn L. nee Hofert 5/10/1933-6/5/2025
Went to live with her Lord peacefully after a brief stay at Niagara Hospice House. She was the daughter of the late Carl and Helen Hofert. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Howard Weir and son Gary, daughter-in-law Constance and sister Shirley Rathke and brother Carl Hofert. She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Rev. William) Kay and son, Alan (Debi Tonge). She was the devoted grandmother of Michael Mroz, Jared (Laura) Mroz, Joshua Weir, Benjamin (Rebecca) Weir, Hannah (James)Griffiths, Sarah (Jason) Licata, Rachel (Joseph) Allison and Matthew (Kristie) Kay. Marilyn was blessed with thirteen great grandchildren: Owen, Ryan and Lila Mroz, Julianne and Madison Weir, Jeffrey Weir, Adaline, Caleb and Evelyn Griffiths, Wyatt Licata, Arielle Allison, Camden and Liam Kay. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Her special friendships in her latter days included Kathy Rusnock and Kathy Ketch Stromecki. Marilyn loved to bake, especially her delicious pies. She enjoyed traveling with her husband in their RV and later with her family and friends. She was an avid and true fan of the New York Yankees and the Buffalo Bills. Marilyn was a woman of faith and was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church in Wilson. Her strong faith carried her through many difficulties in her life but above all, she loved her family. Family and friends may call at the Rutland-Corwin Funeral Home, Inc. 2670 Main St. Newfane, NY Tuesday, June 10th from 3-6 PM. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11:00AM in Concordia Lutheran Church 3121 Beebe Road Newfane, NY 14108.
