- JAENECKE - Jane 90, died Monday November 15, 2010 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital after a brief illness. Born October 17, 1920 in North Tonawanda to Lawrence and Pearl Basenberg Smith. She was a graduate of the Buffalo General Hospital School of Nursing. She worked for many years as a registered nurse at DeGraff Memorial Hospital, then for the Niagara County Health Department. She also worked in the private practice of Dr. Maldiner, of North Tonawanda. After her retirement, she volunteered at the DeGraff hospital gift shop. She was married for nearly 50 years to Robert Jaenecke, who died in 1995. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jill and James Forth, of Lakewood, CO; a grandson, Jesse Forth; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Emmett and Mrs. Ruth Donovan, both of Farmington Hills, MI.; and nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery, North Tonawanda. There are no calling hours.
