Charles F. Benthin, 82, of 4164
Lockport Road, Pendleton, died
Friday in Ransomville General
Hospital after a brief illness.
Mr. Benthin was born July 8,
1886 in St. Johnsburg in the
Town of Wheatfield, the son of
Carl and Augusta Huebner Benthin.
He had operated a farm at
the Lockport Road address for
40 years and had farmed In the
Pendleton area all of his life
Mr. Benthin was a member of
St. Paul's Episcopal Church of
Christ, Shawnee.
Survivors include his widow,
Mrs. Clara Human Benthin; a
daughter, Mrs. Carl (Betty)
Meyers; a brother, Frank Benthin,
and a sister, Mrs. Arthur
(Mary) Schuler, all of Sanborn,
and a sister, Mrs. Marvin (Molly)
Miller, of Lockport. He is
also survived by five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held
at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Paul's
Church, with the Rev. Kenneth
Kolbe officiating. The family
will be present from 7 to 9 p.m
Saturday and from 2 to 5 and 7
to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Pike
and Jones Funeral Home Inc.,
5893 Hoover Road, Sanborn
Burial will be in Wheatfield
Cemetery. Memorials may be
made to St. Paul's United
Church of Christ.
