NIAGARA FALLS —
Elmer Forsey, of Niagara Falls, died on Christmas Day 2012 after a brief illness. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on December 22, 1925, a son of Albert and Helen (Martin) Forsey.
He attended area schools and was a graduate of the former Trott Vocational High School. Elmer served his country with pride in the US Army, drafted at the age of 18, and at the age of 19, went overseas aboard the Queen Mary. He was honorably discharged as PFC with the Combat Infantry Badge; the WW II Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Following his service in the military, he worked for 25 years with Moore Business Forms until its closing and retired from Hooker Chemical Company in 1989 after 20 years. In his free time he enjoyed puzzles and his dear grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Shelia M. (Colpoys) Forsey in 2004. Survivors include six children, Donna Forsey of Niagara Falls, Cathy Booth (Jim) of Niagara Falls, Christine Dowling (Don) of North Tonawanda, Diane Woods (Tim) of Niagara Falls, David Forsey (Wendy) of Merrit Island, FL, Donald Forsey (Dana) of Niagara Falls; grandchildren, Christopher Forsey, Jamie DeFazio (Derek), Jeremy Booth (Sonia), Nicholas Forsey (Jamie), Jeanine Scipione (Dave), Lindsey Woods (Darren); six great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Patricia Cali of Niagara Falls; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Albert Forsey.
There will be no prior visitation. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 11 AM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials, if desired, may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc., 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
