POERSCHKE - Robert W. October 10, 2009, age 85, beloved wife of Annamarie (Mueller) Poerschke; son of the late Bernhardt and Ruth (Heppner) Poerschke; brother of the late Richard Poerschke; brother- in- law of Clarice Poerschke; also survived by several aunts, many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. The family will be present to receive friends Tuesday 3-9 PM at the (Amherst Chapel) AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 5200 Sheridan Dr. (corner Hopkins) where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11:30 AM. Friends invited. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Robert's memory to Hospice Buffalo, Inc., 225 Como Park Blvd., Cheektowaga, NY 14227. Share your condolences at www.AMIGONE.com. Robert was an Army Veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict.

Robert W. Poerschke, a former deli owner from Amherst, died Saturday in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital, Amherst. He was 85.
Born in North Tonawanda, Mr. Poerschke attended North Tonawanda High School. He was a staff sergeant in the Army during World War II and also served in the Korean War.
From 1947 to 1982, he coowned and operated Muellers Delicatessen on Bailey Avenue, known for its specialty sandwiches.
Mr. Poerschke was a past member of the Adams Fire Company and North East Lodge, F&AM. He enjoyed traveling, hunting and fishing. He also liked to play euchre and pinochle.
Mr. Poerschke is survived by his wife, the former Annamarie Mueller.
Services will be at 11:30 a. m. today in Amigone Funeral Home, 5200 Sheridan Drive, Amherst.
