- Gerald R. Wiepert, Sr., age 73, of Ransomville, NY entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Kenmore Mercy Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Wiepert was born on November 3,1950 in Niagara Falls, NY, the son of the late Gerald C. and the Beverly E. (nee Sawyer) Wiepert. He married the former Joyce A. Hughes on August 21, 1971 at Riverside Presbyterian, Niagara Falls, NY. He served in the United States Army during the the Vietnam War. He worked as Plant Maintenance Supervisor with multiple companies including Oxy DurezChemical for 20 years. He had a gas station at four corners in Ransomville. He always worked hard to support his family including working for local farms. Jerry enjoyed the Niagara Drag Strip, Ransomville Speedway, his favorite NASCAR track was Richmond Speedway. He would spend hours in the basement wood working. Every one of his grandchildren either has a rocking horse, fire truck, motorcycle or cow. His grandchildren were the love of his life. He was impressed with all of their achievements. Thumbs up to Justin and all of the grandchildren. Besides his parents, Jerry is predeceased by his brother-in-law John Laughlan. Mr. Wiepert is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Joyce; loving children, Gerald R. (Deborah) Wiepert, Jr, Christine (Robert) Stevenson, Marlene Kostyrka and Jillian (Matthew) Thompson; cherished grandchildren, Sarah, Peter, Justin, John, Tyler, Michael, Jocelyn, Gerald III "Jake", Sean, Joshua, Meaghan, Ryan, Jackson and Lyncoln; caring siblings Nancy Laughlan, Michael "Mickey" and Roger Wiepert; caring uncles, Carl (Nancy) and Merton Wiepert; dear in-law's, Henry B. (Sandra) Hughes, Dorothy (Daniel) Jones and Donald Hughes; also survived by many nieces, nephews, many cousins and his four-legged companion "Skye."The family will be present on Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 3-7 PM at the HARDISON FUNERAL HOMES, INC., 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, where Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 at 1:30 PM. Interment will follow in Dickersonville Cemetery.Flowers gratefully declined. If desired, memorials may be made in Jerry's honor to the Ransomville Fire Company or Ransomville Ambulance Fund.
