Notes - Joyce E. Thilkey passed away July 31, 2025 in Comprehensive Care & Nursing Center of Williamsville. Born August 6, 1938 in Lockport she was the daughter of Norwood and Ruth (Proefrock) Mellenthien. Joyce served in the customer service and hospitality industry before retiring. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, quilting, and cross stitching and most of all "apple fritters". Joyce also cherished her time with the "Newfane Get Together Girls". She was predeceased by her husband Russell Thilkey in 2011 and daughter Rebecca Thilkey in 1958.
Joyce is survived by her children Deborah (John) Hite, Frank (Lisa) Thilkey, Brenda (Glenn) Jordan; Wayne (Robin)Thilkey, Grandchildren Bliss, Joelle, Blake, Ashley; eight great grandchildren; siblings Richard (late Kay) Mellenthien, Norma (late James) Charles (Melanie) Mellenthien, also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visitation Monday August 4th 10-12 AM in Prudden And Kandt Funeral Home, 242 Genesee St., Lockport where funeral services will immediately follow at 12 PM. Interment will be in Cold Springs Cemetery.
