A pretty wedding took place on
Saturday evening, December 1, in
the First Church of Christ, Grove
street, when Miss Doris Helen
Wilke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Raymond Wilke of 9 Clinton street
became the bride of Jay Bernard
Graff, S l / c USN, son of Mrs Ula
Graff of 129 Broad street.
Rev. Norman G. Crawford performed
the double ring ceremony
in the presence of a large number
of relatives and friends.
The bride wore a gown of white
satin, with fitted bodice, long
sleeves, with full tulle skirt over
satin, appliqued with satin medallions,
extending into a long
train. She wore a scalloped vail
with a crown of pearl beads and
carried a bouquet of calla lilies,
with a shower of pompoms.
Miss Lois M. Wilke, the bride's
sister, came from Washington, D.
C, where she is stationed as yeoman
2/c in WAVES, to attend
as maid-of-honor. She wore a gown
with fitted bodice and long full
skirt of aqua, with matching headoiece
of tulle in halo effect. She
"arried pink rosebuds and pale
vellow mums. The bridesmaids
were Miss Delores Graff, sister
of the groom and Miss Margaret
Barons, cousin of the bride. Miss
Graff wore a gown of deep pink
with fitted bodice and long full
skirt covered with matching tulle
and carried pink and white mums-
Miss Barone wore baby blue with
a lace too and long skirt of sheer
rayon. She carried yellow and
white mums. Each wore match-
ing headdresses.
The best man was Kenneth
Graff, brother of the groom, recently
discharged from the Navy.
Richard Wilke, brother of the
bride and Sam Bucur were ushers.
Mrs. Raymond Wilke, mother of
the bride, wore a street length
dress of flowered black sheer,
with black accessories. Mrs.
Graff, the groom's mother, chose
a dress of chartreuse crepe with
matching accessories.
Immediately after the ceremony
a reception was held in the Roumanian
hall for two hundred
guests. Guests from Buffalo were
Joseph V. Simpson, Miss Mary
Simpson, Miss Eileen KerKer,
William Schnoor, John B. Owens,
Miss Rose Mary Lavocot, Donald
Owens, Miss Ruth Drauer, Mrs.
Alvin Finch and Miss Shirley
Finch.
After several days wedding trip
to New York City, where Mr.
Graff will receive bis discharge
from the Navy, the couple will
make their home in 9 Clinton St.
