b o d y was found f l o a t i n g in the lake
l e s s t h a n half an h o u r - a f t e r she was
f i r s t m i s s e d b y h e r m o t h e r . The family
went to the I s l a n d to spend t h e day
a n d s h o r t l y after noon Mrs. W i l k i ns
told her h u s b a n d t h a t she h a d not s e en
Mildred for a b o u t ten or f i f t e e n minu
t e s .
A s e a r c h w a s i n s t i t u t e d and t h e f a t h er
d i s c o v e r e d the body f l o a t i n g on the
s u r f a c e of t h e w a t e r s o m e d i s t a n c e f r om
the s h o r e . It was brought to t h e s h o re
a n d word was sent to C o r o n e r W a l t er
A. Scott, at Nlagnra. F a l l s . He came
h e r e last night and a f t e r some i n q u i ry
g a v e a permit for burial. g i v i n g accidental
d r o w n i n g a s the c a u s e o f d e a t h .
