- Life Story
Robert E. Haseley, 74, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed away on May 30, 2023 at Buffalo General Medical Center. Born on December 7, 1948 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Raymond E. and Alice (nee Gordon) Haseley. On March 20, 1971, Bob married Dale Hilts.
Bob was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School. He proudly served in the United States Army from November 18, 1968, until his honorable discharge on March 30, 1969. On July 14, 1974, Bob fulfilled his service from the Army National Guard. In 2007, he retired from the International Union of Operating Engineers Local #463, working at Niagara Stone/LaFarge for 40 years. Bob was a lifelong avid Buffalo Bills fan. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1451 in Sanborn, LaSalle Yacht Club and the Lower Niagara Moose Lodge #584 in Lewiston. Bob enjoyed boating and especially spending Wednesday nights with the boys. Above all family was everything to Bob.
In addition to his beloved wife, Bob is survived by daughters, Rhonda (Dan) Busch and Staci (Carl Mauer, Jr.) Arnold; grandsons, Alex Busch, Nicholas (Brooke Banker) Busch and Preston Arnold; brothers, Russell (Sue), Greg (Mary Ellen), Jeff (Kathy), Kevin (Lori), Glenn (Bonnie), Brent (late Debbie); sisters, Barbara (late Bruce) Haseley, Debbie (John) Galleciez, Joyce (Bill) Schimschack and Brenda (late Jeff) Marohn; sister-in-laws, Sharen Haseley, Jackie Smith and Donna Cody; brother-in-laws, Ralph Hilts and Butch (Tharon) Hilts and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Besides his parents, Bob was predeceased by siblings, Gordon Haseley and Sandra (late Donald) Slusser and his mother-in-law, Lois Hilts.
The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday, from 2-7 p.m. at the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (716-297-9007). Bob’s funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 4th, at 2 p.m. in Riverside Presbyterian Church, 815 84th Street, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Laura Norris-Buisch serving as celebrant. Everyone is invited to attend Bob’s services. Private interment will take place with his family in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to WNY Heroes, Inc., 1001 East Delevan Avenue, Suite 13, Buffalo, NY 14215 and/or to a charity of one’s choice.
