NORTH TONAWANDA — Patrick M. "Mike" Tierney, Sr., 61, of North Tonawanda, NY, went to heaven to be reunited with our mom on Saturday, July 20, 2013, at his residence, following a lengthy illness. Born on April 29, 1952 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Charles M. and Winifred G. (Lyons) Tierney.
Mr. Tierney attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School. On April 3, 1971, Mike, as he was known by family and friends, married his high school sweetheart, the former Bonnie L. Collins in Niagara Falls, NY. She predeceased him on August 2, 2000. Over the course of his career, he worked to support his family as a construction and maintenance worker for various local businesses and was the proud owner and operator of Tri-Town Home Improvement, where he could provide employment for his family and close friends. Later, Mr. Tierney, retired from Heritage Manor in Ransomville, NY, as a maintenance supervisor. His son, Mike, would not be where he is in life without the help from his dad and will be forever grateful for the knowledge and guidance he was provided. Mike attended Calvary Baptist Church in Niagara Falls, NY. He was a former active fireman and exempt member of Niagara Active Hose Volunteer Fire Company. Mr. Tierney was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed reading. Above all, Mike loved spending time with his grandchildren.

"Mike" (Laurie) Tierney, Jr. and Denielle Marie Zimmerman, both of the Town of Niagara, NY; four grandchildren, Chelsea Tierney, Michael Tierney, Brielle Zimmerman and Caleb Zimmerman; five siblings, Gerald Tierney of the Town of Niagara, NY, Jeffrey "Duke" Tierney of Florida, Jon "Joe" Tierney of Florida, Shirley Tierney of Newfane, NY, and Dorothy Ferry of the Town of Niagara, NY; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents and wife, Mike was predeceased by three brothers, Charles M. Jr., Thomas and Donald Tierney.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of his life on Saturday, July 27th, beginning at 2:00 PM at the home of his son Mike, 3309 Rhode Island Avenue in the Town of Niagara.
