  The News of the Tonawandas, Aug 6, 1953 ACHTERBERG - Charles F. Achterberg, 78, died Wednesday evening, Aug. 5, 1953, at his home in Tonawanda Creek Rd., Town of Amherst, after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Alice, nee Williams. Father of Leonard of Orchard Park; Maynard and Mrs. Jacob Dexheimer of North Tonawanda, and Mrs. John Price of Cooperstown, N.Y. Brother of Mrs. Anna Maerten. Four grandchildren survive. Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver at Ward Rd. The Rev. Fredrick Hinners will officiate. Interment will be in Wheatfield Cemetery
