- Milford R. Ortt, 92, a life long resident of North Tonawanda, NY entered into the loving arms of Jesus with his loving family by his side on October 14, 2016 at Niagara Hospice House. Milford was born on December 22, 1923 in Cambria, NY. He was a WWII Veteran who served in the Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theatre. He was employed by Kimberly Clark and later by Aurora Casket Company. He attended the Chapel at Cross Point in Getsville, NY. Milford was predeceased by his brothers Gordon, James, Donald, and Ronald Ortt, sister Bertha Russell, and brother -in -law John DeGregorio.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth (DeGregorio), sons Robert (Suzette) and Duane Ortt, grandfather of Senator Robert (Meghan) Ortt, and Dr. Kori (Ryan) Gawrys. He was Big Papa to his great grandchildren Riley and Reid Gawrys. He was survived by his sisters Charlotte Stoner, Annabelle DiNicolantonia, Betty Tuttle, and Carol (Patrick) Brown, brother in law of Esther Sprouse,of Roanoke, Virginia. also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call Monday from 2-4 and 6-9 P.M. at the Wattengel Funeral Home, 533 Meadow Drive North Tonawanda, NY 14120. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. from the Chapel at Crosspoint , 500 Crosspoint Pkwy, Getzville, Interment to follow at White Chapel Memorial Park, Amherst, NY. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Niagara Hospice House.
