- Of the Town of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017, in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on March 18, 1936, the son of the late Newton and Dorothy [Coleman] Wise.
Mr. Wise graduated from Trott Vocational High School in 1955 and served in the National Guard for many years. He was employed with DuPont from 1955 until 1961, he then became a pipefitter with the Tonawanda Engine Plant for 36 years, before retiring in 1997. Mr. Wise was actively involved in and served as the District Deputy of the Western New York Royal Rangers Program. He enjoyed family camping trips and sun bathing.
Mr. Wise is survived by his wife of 60 years Astrid F. [Jansen] Wise, one son Rev. Steven (Brenda) Wise, four daughters Susan (Mark) Clancy, Betty (Paul) Ivancic, Bonnie (Darrel) Traver and Michele (Bill) Pearce, one brother Melvin (late Blanche) Wise, one sister Betty (Victor) Jagow, also thirteen grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late James (late Willa) and Bertha Wise.
His family will be present on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY. Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM at the First Assembly of God Church, 9750 Niagara Falls Blvd., Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Vogt officiating.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in his name to the Royal Rangers Program.
Interment with military honors in North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria, NY.
