Veteran Pharmacist, Fischer, dies at 73
Retired North Tonawanda pharmacist Edward J. Fischer died today at his home at 69 Pine Woods Drive. Mr. Fischer, 73, founded the Fischer Pharmacy at 301 Payne Ave., North Tonawanda, and operated it until his retirement in 1964. Born in Buffalo, Mr. Fischer lived in North Tonawanda for 70 years. He was a member of Friedens United Church of Christ, a 50-year member of Sutherland Lodge, F&AM, a past exaulted ruler of North Tonawanda Elks Lodge 860, a member of the advisory board of the Boys' Club of the Tonawandas, and a member of the advisory board to the Niagara County Savings Bank. He is survived by his wife, Maud (nee Joerg) Fischer; a son, Todd Edward Fischer of Menands, N. Y.; a daughter, Melanie Jaehn Fischer of Schaumberg, Ill., a sister, Mrs. Harry Jagow of North Tonawanda, and a grandson, Kyle Christian Fischer. Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Friedens United Church of Christ, the Rev. Howard F. Cramer officiating.
