TOWN OF WHEATFIELD — Ruth E. Pohl (nee Wittkop), age 76, of the Town of Wheatfield, Saturday, February 25, 2012. Ruth Pohl left this life to join her beloved husband, the late Arthur Pohl. She was born March 10, 1935, the daughter of the late Edward and Minnie Wittkop. She retired after 30 years from Riley Gear Corp. where she worked as an administrative assistant. A lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, she volunteered in many activities such as the annual Trash and Treasures. Other interests included traveling internationally, reading and crocheting.
Beloved mother of Patricia Pohl and Sandra (Matthew) Murphy, she is survived by her sister, Esther Snell; sister-in-law, Jan Seloske and brother-in-law, Robert (Rosemary) Pohl; dear friend, Nancy Babb; as well as nieces and nephews.
No prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Thursday, March 1, 2012, at 11:00 AM, at Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver Street at Ward Rd., in North Tonawanda, to be followed by internment at White Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to St. Paul's Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda or the Erie County SPCA. Guest register available at frettholdfuneralhome.com
