Harold N. (Hal) Zastrow. formerly
of North Tonawanda. died Saturday in
Baltimore, Md., after a brief illness.
Mr. Zastrow, 59. was an educator
since 1939.
A 1933 graduate of North Tonawanda
High School, he played football
for the school from 1929 to 1932.
He received a bachelor's degree
from Temple University in 1938 and a
master's degree from New York
University in 1946.
Mr. Zastrow's first teaching position
was at Glassboro. N. J.. High School. In
1954, he went to Glen Burnie. Md;. as a
guidance counselor, and in 1962. was
appointed principal of a new junior
high school in Glen Burnie.
Mr. Zastrow's survivors include bis
wife, the former Nancy Linthicum of
Baltimore, and a sister. Mrs. John F.
(Mildred) Gunderman, a brother.
Elmer Zastrow. and several nieces and
nephews, all of North Tonawanda.
Services will be conducted tomorrow
in Linthicum Heights. Md.
