Mrs. Alida Barnum, 69 years old,
widow of the late James Barnum, well
known throughout Niagara Falls and
vicinity, died at 12:15 o'clock yesterday
afternoon at the home of her
son, William W. Barnum. of No. 1616
South avenue. She succumbed to an attack
of pleurisy, having been ill at
her son's, home for the past two
weeks.
Furneal services will be held from
the St. James M. E. Church, South
avenue, Saturday at one o'clock, the
Rev. William Omssted officiating, and
from the Wilson M. E. church at 3
o'clock, with the Rev. Parding officiating.
Burial will take place in the Greenwood
cemetery, Wilson. The body will
remain at the Dykstra funeral Parlors,
No. 1619 Main street, until 12:30
o'clock Saturday, and will then be
conveyed to the church. After the
services at tho St. James church,
there will be a sufficient number of
automobiles available for those who
wish to attend the services at the Wilson
church.
Coming to this city over 22 years
ago from Wilson, Mrs. Barnum established
a residence In tho homo of her
son, William W. ln South avenue.
Since her arrival here she has been
active in church affairs and has made
many friends throughout Niagara
Falls And vicinity. Her kindly disposition
and her responsive attitude toward
the needs of her friends and her
neighborly affection mndo her beloved
by all who came ln contact .with her.
Numerous floral tributes from friends
In Niagara Falls and vicinity have
been received at the Dykstra undertaking
rooms, as expressive of the
sentiment ot those who knew her.
Besides two sons, William W., of
this city and Frederick, of Wilson, she
te survived by two brothers, Charles
And William Wallace, of Sanborn and
Ridge Road, respectively, and a slater,
Mary Wallober, of Sanborn.
