NEWFANE-A lifelong area
resident, D. G. Gurney Woodcock,
66, of 6358 Ridge Road,
Lockport, died Friday (Nov.
12, 1965) in Lockport Memorial
Hospital after a long illness.
Born Nov. 7, 1899, in Newfane,
the son of Burt and
Maude Barrell Woodcock, he
had operated a farm for many
years and later worked as a
truck driver for the Ferguson
Oil Co., Lockport, for 10 years.
He was a member of First
Presbyterian Church of Lockport.
Surviving are his widow,
Dorothy L. Fonner Woodcock;
his mother, Mrs. Maude Woodcock,
Wilson; two sisters, Mrs.
Herman Thiilke, Wilson, and
Mrs. C. Gladys Weber, Lockport;
a brother, F. Willard
Woodcock and a sister-in-law,
Miss Thelma Fonner, both.of
Lockport, and several nieces
and nephews.
Friends may call at the Rutland-
Corwin Funeral Home,
Newfane, where the family
will be present from 2 to 4
and 7 to 9 p.m. today and Sunday.
A service will be conducted
at 11 a.m. Monday by
Dr. Clarence S. Gee and Rev.
Ivan A. Orloff, minister of
First Presbyterian Church of
Lockport. Burial will be in
Wrights Corners Cemetery.
