Lockport Union-Sun & Journal
LOCKPORT — Betty Jane (nee Hackmer) Andrews went home to be with the Lord Jesus Christ, peacefully, July 31, 2012, surrounded by her loving family, under the care of Hospice.
Born May 30, 1928 in Lockport, she was the daughter of Francis and Doris (Jones) Hackmer.
Betty retired from Harrison Radiator, Division of General Motors, in 1990, after 25 years. She was active in the community, loved her children, grandchildren and all her family and friends dearly. She touched anyone who came in contact with her with such compassion, hugs and kisses, and her beautiful smile left an imprint on your heart. She received her wings early in life by her generous, fun loving spirit.
She was an avid world traveler, loved dancing, bicycling, yet the most joy came from spending and spreading love to her children and grandchildren. Her angelic nature touched and inspired everyone she came in contact with. She will truly be our angel forever in our hearts and in heaven.
Beloved mother of Thomas Woodcock (Eugene Henley), Dennis Woodcock, William (Paula) Dwyer, Greg Mullaney, Timothy (Sandra) Mullaney, Kimberly Mullaney and the late Roger Woodcock. Cherished grandmother of Elissa Dwyer, Lauren Dwyer, Morgan Woodcock, Taylor Woodcock, Megan Mullaney and Alana Thompson. Dear sister of Roland (Peggy) Hackmer and the late Mary (Hackmer) LaSpada, Edith (Hackmer) Selfridge, Carl Hackmer and Charles Hackmer. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and church family.
Relatives and friends may call from 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Saturday, and 2-4 & 7-9 PM on Sunday at the Taylor & Reynolds Funeral Home, corner of Transit and Niagara Streets, where the funeral service will be held on Monday at 1:00 PM. Interment in Cold Spring Cemetery. Memorials to Niagara Hospice would be appreciated by the family. Please visit taylorandreynolds.com.
