Wilson. Feb. 1-Miss Mattie Wakeman,
73 years old, died at the home
of her brother, J. G. Wakeman of the
Daniels Toad on Saturday. January
30th, after an illness of influenza of
Iess than one week's duration. She
was born In the town of Lockport and
resided there until two and one half
years- ago when she became a resident
of Wilson. She possessed the
sweetest of Christian characters and
her passing Is mourned by a large
circle of friends. She has been a
consistent member of the East Wilson
Methodist church for a number
of years. She.- Is survived by one
sister. Miss Amanda Wakeman of
Lockport and two brothers, Stephen
Wakeman of Lockport nnd J. C.
Wnkcmnn of Wilson. The funeral
will be held from the home of J. C.
Wakeman on Tuesday nfternoon.
February 2nd at two o'clock. Rev. S.
W. Asquith, pastor of the North
Ridge Methodist church officiating.
The burial will be at Cold Springs
cemetery, Lockport.
