FORESTPORT - George Fred Worden.
84. a lifelong resident of the
Forestport area died at Faxton Hospital
Utica. on March 25.1981
Born in the Town of Russia. Herkimer
County on March 19, 1897. he was
a son of George D. and Ella Hughes
Worden During WW I he served with
Company C, No 143 Machine Gun Battalion
For many years Mr Worden
was employed as a Mechanic for The
Town of Forestport He was later
employed by the Evans Equipment Co.
in Remsen Mr Worden was well
known for his miniature .wood, carvings,
which have been displayed at
many local museums His carvings are
currently on display at The Dodge-
Pratt-Northam Institute in Boonville
Since last June Mr Worden had made
his home with his daughter Myra on
the Echo Lake Road Town of Boonville
His first wife Susan Roberts whom
he married on August 4. 1920. died on
March 25, 1932 He married Viola G
Banning on Sept 29. 1937 She died on
August 30. 1963 Mr Worden was a
member of The Forestport Presbyterian
Church, a. 60 year member of:
Forestport Lodge I.O OF . and served
as its Secretary for many years He
was presently a member' of Trenton
Lodge IO OF . and was an Honorary
member of Forestport Fire Fighters
Survivors include a son Harold of
Utica; 4 daughters, Mrs Douglas
Frances' LaRocque. Clinton; Mrs
Henry-(Myra) Szyikowski. Boonville;
Mrs Doyle (Ruth) Jones. Lakewood.
Cal ; Mrs Martin (Catherine) Mooney,
Utica;a stepdaughter Mrs Kenneth
(Dorothy) Lebo. Malone; grandchildren
great grandchildren: a son
Clarence died in 1972
Funeral on Friday, at 1:30pm at The
Trainor Funeral 'Home Boonville.
where friends may.call Wednesday.
7 9 and Thursday 2-4. and 7-9 Interment
will be in' Fairchild Cemetery
Remsen Memorial donations may be
made to The Forestport Fire Fighters
or to The Boonville Ambulance Fund
Trenton I OO F Lodge Services at
8 30pm Wednesday.
