NIAGARA FALLS — Stephen J. Virtuoso, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away, unexpectedly, on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at his home. He was born in Lewiston, NY, on November 6, 1968, the son of Gene J. and Elizabeth (Apen) Virtuoso of Lewiston, NY.
Steve attended St. Peter's School and graduated from Lew-Port High School in 1986. He was employed with CM Irrigation Company from 1991 until 2001, where he worked on several national golf courses, Saratoga National, Lake Placid Resorts Golf Course and the Country Club of Rochester. He also worked with Inter Golf Course Construction Management from 2002 to 2008, and at River Oaks Golf Course on Grand Island since 2008.
Steve was a Rock Concert aficionado with his friend, Brian McEvoy. Together they attended the concerts over the past 20 years of Roger Waters, Pink Floyd, the Rolling Stones, the Grateful Dead, along with countless others. He idolized Andy Warhol and his cousin, Tommy Tedesco.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Christine (Main) Virtuoso; a daughter, Olivia Virtuoso; one brother, Michael Virtuoso of Niagara Falls, NY; one sister, Maria (Robert) Nalecz of Penfield, NY; son-in-law of Karen Craig; brother-in-law of Wende Nostro. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
The family will be present on Friday from 4-8 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, at 10:00 AM, at St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY, with Msgr. John W. Zeitler officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
