Stricken ill while swimming at
Park . today,; eight-years-old,
Bernat, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Stephen Bernat, 2755 Independence
avenue, died shortly after
being: admitted to Mt. St. Mary's
hospital.
Attendants at the hospital .were
informed that the girl was swimming
in the park pool this morning
when, she became nauseated and
went to a dressing room.
Her mother was summoned to the
pool and-a physician's services were
obtained before the child was removed
to' the hospital: where emergency
' treatment was' administered
before she was pronounced dead.
'At the hospital it was reported
that Dr. Henry C Lapp, North
Tonawanda coroner, had ordered an
autopsy- to: be performed on the
child's body this afternoon
