- Malvern Luschen Obituary
Of the Town of Porter, passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024, under the care of his family and Niagara Hospice. He was born in Omaha, NE, on January 28, 1933, a son of the late Henry and Lona [Schuldt] Luschen. He spent his childhood years on a farm in Bennington, NE.
Mr. Luschen served with the Coast Guard during the Korean War in Youngstown, NY. After the service, he moved to Niagara Falls, NY and was a firefighter with the Niagara Falls Fire Department for over 25 years, retiring as Captain in 1988. He also served as the Fire Inspector with the Town of Lewiston from 1978 until 1990 and volunteered at the Fatima Shrine in the building and ground maintenance department.
He was a member of the LaSalle Sportsman Club for many years.
Mr. Luschen enjoyed spending time with his family, playing golf, bowling and traveling.
He was the husband of the late Jeanne [Carr] Luschen, who passed away in April of 2002.
Mr. Luschen is survived by his dear companion Donna Lasher, his children Brian (Dawn) Luschen, Lori (Anthony Mastroianni) Retzlaff, Elise (Robert) Chiarmonte, Pamela (Scott) Stroh and Kristen (Glenn Miskovsky) Luschen, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, also many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Marilyn (Charles) Williams.
His family would like to extend their deepest appreciation to the many Niagara Hospice caregivers that cared for their father at this time.
A celebration of his life will be held at a time to be announced.
Memorials may be made in his name to Niagara Hospice.
Interment with Military Honors in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
