- September 21, 2013 Miaret A. "Dean" Harmon Anonymous The Tonawanda News The Tonawanda News Sat Sep 21, 2013, 03:13 PM EDT TONAWANDAS — Miaret A. "Dean" Harmon, age 83, of the Tonawandas, passed away Saturday, September 21, 2013. Dean was a member of the TNT Youth Board of the United Way Fund Drive. He was a US Air Force veteran and Past Commander of Stephen Sikora Post 1322 American Legion in North Tonawanda. He was a former Circulation Manager of the Tonawanda News for 28 years and served as President of the NYS Circulation Management Assn. He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn (nee Parmentier) Harmon; six children, Dale Lynn (Keith) Luke, Thomas W. Harmon, Michael A. Harmon, Paula Lawrie, Cheryl Sparks and Sandra Prohaska, and was the father of the late Joseph Prohaska; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Charlyne (Roger) Helwig and was the brother of the late Thomas (Constance) Harmon; also many nieces and nephews. Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Inc., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.), in Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Chapel, 71 Adam St., in Tonawanda. Rev. Michael Uebler will officiate. A private burial will be in Acacia Park Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined.
